Martha Ellen was born in 1857 in , Washington, PA.1 Martha Ellen's father was Joseph Yard Province and her mother was Priscilla Jane Stevens. Her paternal grandparents were Jesse Province and Cecelia Spencer. She had eight brothers and five sisters, named John Henry, Jasper Stephen, Newton G, Jesse Spencer, Nathan Spencer, Samuel Uriah, Phillip S, James David, Margaret Ann, Angeline Elizabeth, Celia Jane, Louise and Selina. She died at the age of 93 in 1950.1 -
