Maud (Matilda) was born about 1192 in of Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales.1 Maud (Matilda)'s father was William Marshal Earl of Pembroke and her mother was Isabel de Clare Cts de Strigoil. Her paternal grandparents were John FitzGilbert Marshal and Sibyl de Evereux; her maternal grandparents were Richard FitzGilbert de Clare Earl of Pembroke and Aoife (Eva) MacDermot Cts de Ireland. She had three sisters named Isabella, Johanna (Joan) and Eva. She was the oldest of the four children. She died on March 27th, 1248.1 -
