His paternal grandparents were Gilbert FitzRichard de Clare Earl of Clare and Adeliza (Alice) de Clermont; his maternal grandparents were Robert de Beaumont de Meulan Earl of Leicester and Isabella Capet de Crépi. He was an only child. He died at the age of 51 on April 20th, 1176 in Dublin, Leinster, Ireland.1 -
