Vira Belle was born on October 2nd, 1899 in Montour, Tama, IA.1 Vira Belle's father was George Washington Gandy and her mother was Pearl Permelia Levis. Her paternal grandparents were Elias Gandy and Lydia Ann Cunningham; her maternal grandparents were Robert Curtis Levis and Elizabeth Waterhouse Howard. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Marvin Elias, George Curtis, Cora Marie, Iola Ruth, Alta Elizabeth, Edna Georgia and Mildred Irene. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 53 on February 9th, 1953 in Pierre, Hughes, SD.1 -
