Levi was born in 1736 in , Cape May, NJ.1 Levi's father was Peter Corson and his mother was Rachel Garretson. His paternal grandparents were Peter Corson and Deborah Townsend. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Benajah, Darius, Remington, Peter, Jesse, Zabiah, Rebecca, Rachel, Elizabeth and Deborah. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.-
