Elizabeth was born in 1744 in , Cape May, NJ.1 Elizabeth's father was Peter Corson and her mother was Rachel Garretson. Her paternal grandparents were Peter Corson and Deborah Townsend. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Benajah, Darius, Remington, Peter, Levi, Jesse, Zabiah, Rebecca, Rachel and Deborah. She was the second youngest of the eleven children.-
