John was born about 1808 in Ireland.  John's father was Robert Beggs and his mother was Sarah Whiteford. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Robert, Thomas, Hugh, Margaret, Sarah, Mary Ellen and Jane.  He died before 1845 in Mountain, Dundas, Ontario, Canada.
