James Oscar was born in 1868. James Oscar's father was Hugh Beggs and his mother was Mary Robinson. His paternal grandparents were Robert Beggs and Sarah Whiteford. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Thomas J, Richard, Robert, George Crawford, Abram Leonard, William John, Margaret, Sara Ann and Matilda J. He was the youngest of the ten children. He died in , Dundas, Ontario, Canada.-
