John Beckwith 
John was born in 1669 in Branford, CT.1 John's father was Matthew Beckwith and his mother was Elizabeth Unknown. His paternal grandparents were Matthew Beckwith and Mary Elizabeth Lynne. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Matthew, James, Jonathan, Prudence, Elizabeth, Ruth and Sarah. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He had a half-brother named Griswold.
