Gerberge of Saxony Abbess of Notre Dame 
Gerberge of Saxony was born in Nordhausen, Saxony.1 Gerberge of Saxony's father was Henry I the Fowler Holy Roman Emp and her mother was St. Matilda von Ringelheim. Her paternal grandparents were Otto the Illustrious of Saxony Duke of Saxony and Hedwige of Germany; her maternal grandparents were Theudebert (Dietrich) of Saxony Duke of Saxony and Ludmilla Ragnhildis von Friesland. She had two brothers and a sister, named Henry I the Quarrelsome, Otto I the Great and Hadwig. She died in 0984 in France.2 -
