Louis II the German King of East Franks 
Louis II the German was born in 0800 in France.1 Louis II the German's father was Louis I the Pious de Aquitaine King of France and his mother was Irmengard de Hesbain. His paternal grandparents were Charlemagne King of Franks and Hildegarde Cts de Vinzgau; his maternal grandfather was Ingeramne Duc de Hesbaye. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Lothar I de Italia, Louis, Pepin, Hildegard de Aquitaine and Adelaide Aelis. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Charles II the Bald and Gisela. He died in Frankfort, Brandenburg, Germany.1 General Notes

Louis II King Of Germany is often regarded as the founder of the German kingdom. After the death of his father, Louis I, in 1840, he joined with one brother, Charles the Bald, to fight another, Lothair I, for control of the empire. The Treaty of Verdun
in 843 gave Louis all of Germany east of the Rhine River.
