Mrs. Mattie McGee
In declining health for a long period of time, Mrs. Mattie McGee, well known woman of the county, died at her home a few miles west of Starr (SC) shortly after ? oclock yesterday morning. Mrs. McGee was 86 years old and the widow of the late Julius F. McGee of this county. Born and reared in Anderson county, Mrs. McGee, who was Miss Jones before her marriage, spent her entire life in the section, where she was loved by a wide circle of relatives and friends. For many years she had been an active and devoted member of Cross Roads Baptist Church at Starr.
Surviving the deceased are three sons, W.R., and J.E. McGee of Starr, and F.J. McGee of the Roberts section, and 24 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Cross Roads Batist Church this morning at 11 oclock with Rev. W.B. Hawkins officiating and internment will be made in the Cross Roads cemetary with G.F. Tolly and Son funeral directors in charge. Active pallbearers will be the following grandsons: S.A. McGee, Paul McGee, E.T. McGee, Michael Glenn, W.H. McGee, and George Todd.
