William Pickens Shealy 
William Pickens was born on July 10th, 1871 in Pine Ridge Area, Newberry County, South Carolina.1 William Pickens' father was Joshua Shealy and his mother was Mary Ann "Martha" Ballentine. His paternal grandparents were John Ventle Shealy and Eva Margaret Sease. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Jacob Abnet, Henry Luther, Mary Jane, Emiline Lenora, Catherine and Frances Cummins. He was the second youngest of the seven children.-
