Robert C. was born about 1855 in Arkansas.1 Robert C.'s father was David Alexander Shaw and his mother was Sarah A. Kinard. His maternal grandparents were Graham Kinard and Eve Sease. He had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Lou, Mary, Martha Jane and Melisia. He was the third youngest of the six children.-
