Cephas (Jocephes?) was born on October 29th, 1851 in Little Mountain, Newberry County, South Carolina.1 Cephas (Jocephes?)'s father was Elias Starling Sease and his mother was Ella Jane Lewis. His paternal grandparents were John Frederick Sease and Elizabeth Bickley. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named James Luther, Henry Sebastian, Talton Sim, Oliver Lafayette, George Rufus, Killain Alma, Boyd Dent, Laura Angelina, Almenia Annette, Nancy Elvira, Adriann Adora and Elizabeth Malenda (Lillie). He was the oldest of the thirteen children. He died due to Cancer;Uremic Coma at the age of 73 on February 2nd, 1925 in Lexington County, South Carolina. He was buried on February 5th, 1925 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Batesburg-Leesburg, SC.1 1 -
