Jesse Calvin (J.C.) was born about 1913 in Lexington County, South Carolina.1 Jesse Calvin (J.C.)'s father was Arthur Calvin Monts and his mother was Jessie Amelia Lindler. His maternal grandparents were George Milledge Lindler and Alice Iodora Minnick. He had four brothers and a sister, named Charles W., Claude Lee, George Cecil, Homer Willard and Janet. J.C. Monts
Chapin -- Services for Jesse Calvin "J.C." Monts, 87, will be held
Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, White Rock with burial in
the church cemetery. memorials may be made to the American Cancer
Society. Visitation will be 7-9 this evening at Dunbar Funeral Hme,
Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo.
Mr. Monts, husband of the late Anita Shealy Monts, died Monday, July 24,
2000. Born in Lexington Co., he was a son of the late Arthur and Jesse
Lindler Monts. An Army veteran of World War II, he retired from
Greenwood Mills in Joanna. He was a member of Bethel LUtheran Church
where he formerly served on church council. He was a member and past
post commander of VFW Post #8069.
Surviving are son, Ken Monts of Chapin; daughter, Pam M. Dunbar of
Chapin; brothers, Charles Monts of Litle Mountain, Willard Monts of
Sumter; sister, Janet Adams of Prosperity; grandchildren, Joshua Monts,
Nicole Dunbar, Kayla Dunbar, Kendra Monts.
