He had four brothers and three sisters, named Herman Eugene, Charles, Curtis, Grover, Helen, Louise and Grace. He died on January 12th, 2000 in Newberry County Memorial Hospital, Newberry, SC. Prosperity - Funeral services for Harvey D. Lake, 87, formerly of 9521
Hwy. 76 E., will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at McSwain-Evans Funeral
Chapel, with burial to follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family
will receive friends 12:30-1:45 p.m. Saturday at McSwain-Evans Funeral
Home, which is in charge. The family suggests that those desiring may
make memorials to Grace Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 188, Prosperity, SC

Mr. Lake, widower of Marjorie Bowers Lake, died Wednesday, January 12 at
Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born in Little Mountain, he was a son
of the late Kirk David and Angie Boland Lake. He was a U.S. Army veteran
of World War II and owner and operator of Lake's Barber Shop for 48
years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Happy Hearts
Sunday School Class. He was a member of American Legion Post 24.
Mr. Lake is survived by his son, Keith D. Lake of Mt. Holly, N.C.;
daughter, Barbara L. Leaphart of Prosperity; sister, Grace lake of
Columbia; brothers, Grover lake of Columbia, Curtis Lake of White
