Louis VIII The Lion was born on September 3rd, 1187 in Paris.1 Louis VIII The Lion's father was Philip II Augustus King Of France and his mother was Isabella Of Hainaut, Countess Of Artois. His paternal grandparents were Louis VII The Young King Of France and Alix Of Champagne; his maternal grandparents were Baldwin V Count Of Hainaut And Namur and Margarite Of Lorraine, Heiress Of Flanders. He was an only child. He died at the age of 39 on November 8th, 1226 in Montpensier, Auvergne.1 General Notes
