Richard Floyd
Columbia -- Services for Richard Lee Floyd, 81, will be held at 3 p.m.
Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Christ the King Lutheran Church with Rev.
Karen Hawkins. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 7-8 this evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845
Leesburg Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ the
King Lutheran Church, 7239 Patterson Road, Columbia, SC 29209; Lutheran
Hospice, 1505 Blanding Street, Columbia, SC 29201; or Bernardin Hospice
House, 90 Finley Rd., Columbia, SC 29203.
Mr. Floyd died Sunday, July 9, 2000. Born in Newberry Co., he was the
son of the late James Guy Floyd and Minnie Lee Davenport Floyd. He was a
Program Specialist with the U.S. Dept of Agriculture for over 40 years.
He had served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy and was a
member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Derick Floyd of the home; daughter, Luana
Coleman and her husband Jeff of Lexington; sister, Annie Werts of
Newberry; grandson, Christopher Coleman and his wife Kristin of
Tennessee; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son James
Richard Floyd.
