Susan (Susie) was born on April 8th, 1878 in Near Chapin, South Carolina.1 Susan (Susie)'s father was John Henry Comalander and her mother was Laura Anne Marilla (Susannah) Shealy. Her maternal grandparents were Andrew Shealy and Mary Caroline Sease. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named A.H. (Hack), John Shell, Wilbur, Mary E. (Lillie), Minnie Ada, Georgie May, Bertha Agnes, Hazel L., Blanch and Corrie. She died at the age of 67 on April 8th, 1945 in Near Chapin, South Carolina. She was buried in Comalander Family Cemetery, Near Chapin, SC.1 1 -
