His paternal grandparents were Thomas Stanley and Rebecca ?; his maternal grandparents were Nicholas Hutchins and Mary Watkins. He had a brother and a sister, named Thomas and Agatha. He had two half-brothers and six half-sisters, named John, Shadrack, Mary, Alice, Ursula, Millicent, Elizabeth and Ann. He died in Hanover Co. Virginia.-
