Garland Stanley 
Garland was born on February 12th, 1791 in Cedar Creek, Hanover Co., Virginia. Garland's father was James Crew Stanley and his mother was Mary Jones. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Stanley and Sarah Crew. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named James Crew, Nathaniel Jerrett, Jesse, Littleberry, Lemuel, Gerard, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Sarah and Rhoda. He was the oldest of the eleven children.-
