Daisy was born in June 1896. Daisy's father was Charles W. Stanley and her mother was Nannie C. Pate. Her paternal grandparents were Grandison A. Stanley and Susan Eudora Edwards; her maternal grandparents were Joe K. Pate and Mary J. ?. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Daniel, Norman, Ida and Delia. She was the third oldest of the five children.-
