Meade Ruffin 
Meade was born in 1853. Meade's father was Julian Calx Ruffin and his mother was Charlotte Stockdale Meade. His paternal grandparents were Edmund Ruffin and Susan Travis; his maternal grandparents were John Everard Meade and Rebecca Wormeley Beverley. He had a brother and two sisters, named Edmund Sumter, Jane and Bessy C.. He was the oldest of the four children.-
