William Armistead was born on June 24th, 1886. William Armistead's father was William Armistead Pendleton and his mother was Mary Alexander Bruce. His paternal grandparents were William Armisead Pendleton and Mary Anne Berry; his maternal grandparents were Alexander Bruce and Mary Evelyn Anderson. He had two brothers named Bruce and Allan. He was the oldest of the three children.-
