Louis Alexander was born on August 9th, 1896. Louis Alexander's father was Charles Rittenhouse Pendleton and his mother was Sarah Peeples. His paternal grandparents were Philip Coleman Pendleton and Catherine Sarah Melissa Tebeau; his maternal grandparents were Richard Augustus Peeples and Sarah Camp. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Charles Rittenhouse, William Edmund, Catherine Peeples, Mary, Luelle, Philola, Carita, Vida and Zera. He was the second youngest of the ten children.-
