Sarah E. was born in 1833. Sarah E.'s father was Thomas Joseph Payne and her mother was Theodosia Bybee. Her maternal grandparents were Pleasant Bybee and Mildred Priddy. She had four brothers and a sister, named Joseph Bybee, Thompson, William Daniel, Samuel and Susan Banks. She was the second youngest of the six children.-
