Patrick's father was Patrick Napier and his mother was Martha Claiborne. His paternal grandparents were Robert Napier and Mary Perrin; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Claiborne and Ann Fox. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Joseph Fox, Rene, Richard, Thomas, Ann Fox, Elizabeth Claiborne and Mary Perrin.-
