Cecelia was born on October 3rd, 1730 in New Kent Co., Virginia. Cecelia's father was Charles Massie and her mother was Ann Macon. Her paternal grandparents were Peter Massie and Penelope Ashley Cooper; her maternal grandparents were Gideon Macon and Martha Woodward. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Charles, Gordon, Peter, David, Thomas, James, Nathaniel, Anna, Elizabeth and Mary. She was the youngest of the eleven children.-
