Owen J. was born in 1891 in Richmond, VA. Owen J.'s father was Owen Francis Marrin and his mother was Elenora Tinsley. His maternal grandparents were Albert Newton Tinsley and Elizabeth B. Smith. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Joseph T., Edward Reeves, Marie, Nellie and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the seven children.-
