John Lipscomb 
John was born on October 31st, 1761 in Louisa Co., VA. John's father was William Lipscomb and his mother was Elizabeth Smith. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Lipscomb and Sarah MackGehee; his maternal grandparents were David Smith and Elizabeth Ragland. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, William, David, Nathan, Smith, Mary and Ann Elizabeth. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 65 on October 27th, 1827 in Spartanburg, SC. He was buried on October 29th, 1827 in Lipscomb Cemetery, Gaffney, Cherokee, SC.-
