Joan of Acre was born in 1272 in Acre, Holy Land (Palestine).  Joan of Acre's father was Edward I Longshanks and her mother was Eleanor of Castile.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry III and Eleanor Berenger; her maternal grandparents were Ferdinand III of Castile and Johanna of Ponthieu. She had four brothers and eleven sisters, named John, Henry, Alfonso, Edward II of England, Eleanor, Joan, Julian (Katherine), Margaret, Berengaria, Elizabeth (Isabel), Beatrice, Blanche, Mary, Isabella and Alice. She had two half-brothers named Thomas and Edmund of Woodstock.  She died at the age of 35 on April 23rd, 1307.
