Joseph Sampson Jennings 
Joseph Sampson was born on November 18th, 1846 in Powhatan Co., Virginia. Joseph Sampson's father was Daniel Oscar Jennings and his mother was Susan Adeline Bowles. His paternal grandparents were John J. Jennings and Lucy Ann Duval; his maternal grandparents were Henry Bowles and Susan Fuqua. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John Henry, James Edward, Parke, Jack, Ruth, Bettie and Lucy Emily Duval. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 70 on February 6th, 1917.-
