Katherine Edna was born on January 8th, 1915. Katherine Edna's father was Morton Hatton and her mother was Ora Lou Ladd. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Mifflin Ladd and Katherine Frances Childress. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Edward Ronald, Bernard Lewis, David Bell, Dorothy Elizabeth, Mildred Eva and Marian Larnell. She was the second oldest of the seven children.-
