Overton was born on November 29th, 1767 in "Cedar Hill", Hanover Co., VA. Overton's father was Overton Harris and his mother was Ann Nelson. His paternal grandparents were William Harris and Elizabeth Anne Barrett. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named William, John, Nelson, Jemima, Martha, Sarah, Temperance, Ann, Betsey and Frances. He died at the age of 45 on October 9th, 1813 in "Cedar Hill", Hanover Co., VA.-
