James Tonis Harris

James Tonis was born on January 2nd, 1856 in Hanover Co., Virginia.  James Tonis' father was Stephen O. Harris and his mother was Dianah Smith.  His paternal grandparents were Solomon Harris and Elizabeth Hogan; his maternal grandparents were James Smith and Joann Thacker. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Edward Mann, Stephen Edgar, Philip Solomon, Montgomery Malcolm, Stephen W., Julian Richard, Darthuly A. and Mary Lou Joy.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
