Thomas Gates Harlow 
Thomas Gates was born on October 15th, 1836 in Fluvanna Co., VA. Thomas Gates' father was James Richard Harlow and his mother was Rebecca B. White. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Harlow and Susannah ?; his maternal grandfather was John White. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Lucian Minor, Richard Field, Philip Henry, James Garland, John W., Susan Jane, Mary Ann and Frances Elizabeth. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 69 on December 1st, 1905 in Louisa Co., VA.General Notes

Harlow, Thomas G.: Louisa Co.; conscripted; enl. Feb. 10, 1864, at Camp Lee; assd. 1st Va., July 22, 1864; Pvt., Co. B. Captured, Ap. 1, 1865; released June 4, 1865, from Point Lookout after taking oath. Died in Louisa Co., December 1905, aged 70.
