Ann Spotswood's father was Thomas Mann Fleming and her mother was Ann Spotswood Payne. Her paternal grandparents were Tarleton Fleming and Mary Randolph; her maternal grandparents were Archer Payne and Martha Dandridge. She had a brother and two sisters, named Tarleton, Martha Dandridge and Mary Page.-
