John D. Davis 
John D. was born about 1787 in Amherst Co., VA. John D.'s father was Moses Davis and his mother was Millicent Carter. His paternal grandparents were Richard Davis and Elizabeth ?; his maternal grandparents were Solomon Carter and Mary Ann Bickley. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Frederick, Lindsey, James Ware, Elisha, Lucinda and Mary. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died in 1837 in Dallas, AL.-
