Sarah Nicholas was born in 1832. Sarah Nicholas' father was Wilson Jefferson Cary and her mother was Jane Margaret Carr. Her paternal grandparents were Wilson Jefferson Cary and Virginia Randolph; her maternal grandparents were Peter Carr and Hester Smith Stevenson. She had two brothers and a sister, named John Brune, Wilson Miles and Virginia.-
