Leauraney was born about 1782. Leauraney's father was Hudson Blankenship and her mother was Edith Wilkinson. Her paternal grandparents were John B. Blankenship and Elizabeth Hudson; her maternal grandfather was John Wilkinson. She had eight brothers and five sisters, named Daniel, Archibald, Reuben, Henry, Jesse, Prudence, Levi, Jacob, Sally, Edith, Obedience, Elizabeth and Nancy. She was the fourth youngest of the fourteen children.-
