Joseph Vent was born on June 9th, 1886 in Hanover Co., VA. Joseph Vent's father was Silas Askew and his mother was Mary Elizabeth Ellen Edwards. His paternal grandparents were Robert Askew and Nancy Stanley; his maternal grandparents were William T. Edwards and Lucinda M. Hall. He had a brother and three sisters, named Silas Bane, Bertie, Ada and Eary. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 64 on September 18th, 1950 in Beaverdam, Hanover Co., VA.-
