James Adams 
James was born in 1783 in Kentucky, USA. James' father was *Absalom Adams and his mother was *Sarah Compton Sumpter. His paternal grandparents were *John Robert Adams and *Mourning Pigg; his maternal grandparents were *Henry Sumpter and Agnes D Dillon. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Henry, John B, Daniel H, Mary Ann, Nancy and Martha Patsy. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 60 on September 4th, 1843.-
