*Mourning was born in 1720 in King and Queen, Virginia, USA.¹ *Mourning's father was *Paul Pigg and her mother was *Elizabeth Osborne. Her paternal grandparents were *John Pigg and *Jane Elizabeth Mott; her maternal grandfather was *William Osborne. She had two brothers and a sister, named Paul, John Ghent and Elizabeth. She was the youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 65 in 1785 in Pittsylvania, Virginia, United States.²
