Minnie L. HAYES

Minnie L. was born on September 13th, 1896 in TN.¹ Minnie L.'s father was Pink HAYES and her mother was Mollie. Her maternal grandparents were James ALMON and Frances RAWLINGS. She had two brothers and six sisters, named James Morgan, William Howard, Anna B. or Anner, Etta Tennessee, Dora Ellie, Hessie, Maggie Mae and Earline. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children. She died due to Pulmonary Tuberculosis at the age of 24 on March 3rd, 1921 in East Lake, Hamilton County, TN. Her burial was on March 4th, 1921 in City Cemetery, Manchester, Coffee Cty, TN.²

  Place of death was 3 Wall Street, Hamilton County, Village of East Lake, Tennessee.
  
  Death Certificate File #123 shows name of Minnie THOMPSON and attested to by E. THOMPSON, 3 Wall Street. E. THOMPSON was Minnie's second husband. It is believed that the initial E. stands for Ezekiel.
  
  There is an Ezekiel THOMPSON listed in the 1920-21 Chattanooga City Directory. No wife or address is shown. Employed by CH B & T Co. Residence East Lake.
  
  The same city directory shows Miss Minnie THOMPSON, boarder at 2703 E. 47th, East Lake.
  
  Notes from family bible provided by Bessie Mae FULMER shows Clarine THOMPSON born January 16, 1921-died May 28, 1921. Was this a child of Minnie and E. THOMPSON?
