Ole was born in 1858.  Ole's father was Tobias Oftebro and his mother was <Unknown>.  His paternal grandparents were Villum Christian Henriksen Oftebro and Gunhild Tollaksdatter Oftebro (Rom). He had two brothers and six sisters, named Christian, Tobias, Gunhild, Karen, Anna, Anna, Maria and Katrine.  He was the second youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 80 in 1938.
