    Harrison Elsworth, son of Thomas and Violet Gist Wynn, was born near
    Cambridge, Gurnsey County, Ohio May 30, 1862 and passed away at Murray
    Memorial hospital, Dodge City, at 5:15 A. M. July 28, 1941 aged 79 years
    1 month and 28 days.
    At the age of six years he moved with his parents to Miami County, Kansas
    near Paola. Here he grew to manhood.
    On the second day of February, 1886 he was united in marriage to Emma
    Jane Sharon, daughter of his father’s boyhood friend and army comrade.
    For fifty-one years they enjoyed life together until the death of Mrs.
    Wynn in 1937. To them were born six children. The youngcouple
    established their first home on a farm near Paola. From there they moved
    to Linn county and later to Allen county. In 1908 the Wynn family moved
    
    
    
    
    
    
    to Pawnee county, locating near Garfield. In 1916 they came to Copeland
    
    
    
    
    
    
    which remained the family home until the death of Mrs. Wynn.
    The deceased is survived by five children: Frank F of Inglewood,
    California, John T. of Copeland, Lena Fay Cragg or Manhattan, Kansas,
    Elizabeth Sharon McDowell of Garfield and Helen Gould Beuttel of Wichita.
    Other survivors are three sisters Mrs. Maggie Vogelsong and Mrs Mollie
    Hudleson both of Eldorado, Mrs Minnie Tracy of Wichita; two brothers,
    John A of Iola and George H. of Eldorado; fifteen grandchildren and one
    
    
    
    
    
    
    great grand daughter. Preceding him in death were his wife, his daughter
    Mary Violet who passed away ag Garfield at the age of twenty-one years,
    
    
    
    
    
    
    two sisters Emily and Sadie and two grand-children.
    He was affectionately known as "Grand-dad Wynn", a man who numbered his
    
    
    
    
    
    
    friends by his acquaintances. He was a member of the Methodist church and
    a consistent attendant at its services as long as health permitted. He
    was ever willing to accept life as it came to him. For the last four and
    a half months of his life he was bet-fast, but he maintained his
    cheerfulness and great good humor until the end. Of his passing, it has
    
    
    
    
    
    
    been fittingly said, "If not now, yet it will come.If it will come it
    may as well be now"
    Mrs. Beuttel's Father Dies

    H. E. Winn, 79, prominent Copeland, Kas. Rancher and father of Mrs.
    Herman W. Beuttel, 1142 North Broadway, died Monday in a Dodge City
    hospital as the result of a stroke suffered two months ago at El Dorado.
    Mrs. Beuttel and her son, Bill, were at the bedside when death came to
    the pioneer Kansan at 5 a.m. Monday. They went to Dodge City Sunday
    morning upon receiving word of Mr. Winn's critical condition.
    Born in Ohio, Mr. Winn had lived in Kansas 70 years. He had made his home
    in Allen County, at Garfield and Copeland, where he held large ranch and
    farming acreages.
    Other survivors were two daughters, Mrs W. W. McDowell, Garfield and Mrs.
    FloydCraig, Manhattan; two sons Frank, Los Angeles, and John T.,
    Copeland: three sisters, Mrs. Hohn Tracy, 1041 South Topeka; Mrs. John
    Huddleston and Mrs. Maggie Vogelsong both of El Dorado; and two brothers
    George, El Dorado, and Don, Allen County.
    Funeral services were scheduled tentatively for Wednesday at Copeland,
    with interment to be made in the family cemetery lot at Garfield.
