William Washington Jr was born on October 18th, 1896 in Whortonville, Pamlico, North Carolina, United States,.1   William Washington Jr's father was William Washington Sr Silverthorne and his mother was Annie Elizabeth Saunders.  His paternal grandparents were Frederick B Silverthorne and Clarissa Cuttrel McCotter; his maternal grandparents were John William Sr Sanders and Nancy Elizabeth Alexander Harris. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Frederick, John W, John W., Samuel Lee, Samuel, James Jim Gideon, Mary B., Ann Bryan (Molly), Francis Virginia and Nancy Emmaline Lina.  He was the youngest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 76 on February 24th, 1973 in Whortonsville, Pamlico, North Carolina, United States.2
