John W. Silverthorne

John W. was born about 1880 in North Carolina.¹ John W.'s father was William Washington Sr Silverthorne and his mother was Annie Elizabeth Saunders. His paternal grandparents were Frederick B Silverthorne and Clarissa Cuttrel McCotter; his maternal grandparents were John William Sr Sanders and Nancy Elizabeth Alexander Harris. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Frederick, John W, Samuel Lee, Samuel, James Jim Gideon, William Washington Jr, Mary B., Ann Bryan (Molly), Francis Virginia and Nancy Emmaline Lina. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.
