Male Saint Elmo McCotter

Saint Elmo was born on February 8th, 1883 in Merritt, Pamlico, North Carolina.1   Saint Elmo's father was William Richard McCotter and his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Brite.  His paternal grandparents were Barney and Susan A Fulsher; his maternal grandparents were Anson Brite and Martha Bright?. He had a brother and three sisters, named Shade (Shadrack), Susan Matilda, Martha and Lucy Jane.  He was the third oldest of the five children. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named William Richard, Richard Earl, Annie Elizabeth Luvenia (Minnie), Annie, Sadie Lorraine and Sadie.  He died at the age of 82 on April 7th, 1965 in New Bern, Craven Co., NC.  He was buried in 1965 in New Bern Cem, New Bern, Craven Co., NC.2 1
